8 minute baked potatoe recipe
By Benz B
A lot of people think that making baked potatoes requires your to turn on your oven and run up your gas bill for 30 minutes to an hour. In the old days that was true but now there is way to cut the time drastically. Try 8 minutes! In just that short amount of time you can make a great tasting baked potato that rivals even your favorite sit down restaurants awesome baked potatoes. The taste is sensational and the recipe is a very simple one. And it may even be considered a diet recipe or a recipes for kids. This was one of the first recipes in my recipe binder.
These great potatoes can be purchased at your local grocery store for about $1ea. and they come pre-wrapped in a clear film. They are packaged individually and are more economical sometime because they allow you to purchase just enough for one meal without having to buy a big bag of potatoes that will take up unnecessary space and may go uneaten. 8 minute baked potatoes can be a great option for a busy individual who has a short amount of time for lunch during a hectic day at the office or someone who comes home and just can't decide on a meal to fix. This offers a tasty yet rapid solution to these dilemma. A lot of the items needed to make a 8 minute potato can already be found in your refrigerator and cabinets. You need only your hunger and the 10 minute total time required to prep, cook and clean up.
For starters you will need a pre-wrapped baked potato from you local grocery store or if you have a potato and some clear cooking film you can clean and wrap you potato in the film. Next you will need to place the potato on the cooking plate of your microwave. It is not required to have a paper plate at this time because the wrap will keep everything sealed inside the potato nice and neat eliminating the need for any extra clean up. You will then need to set the timer on your microwave for approximately 8 minutes and start the timer. During this 8 minutes you have time to read a couple pages in your favorite book, go put clothes in the dryer, or if you are at work you have 8 extra minutes to read over papers for that very important project you are working on.
Once the potato is done then you will need to score it across the top straight down the middle to cut the plastic film and remove the film from the potato. Be careful at this point because the potato is extremely hot and even the steam from it can burn you without even touching the potato. Now cut the potato in half and open it up so that both halves are showing face up. You can then add your favorite spices. For this potato I started off adding some spreadable country crock light on the potato. Then I sprinkled a little seasoning salt on it because that is how my favorite sit down restaurant seasons their tip potato. (They call them tip potato because the way that I and a lot of other frequent customers like their potatoes is first baked and then diced on the flat grill and then spices and cheeses are added to give it an almost smothered potato look but with a much better flavor. This item is not on the menu so when you want it cooked this way you have to tell the cook and tip him for his services.) LOL!
After that I used the butter knife to dice up the potato and allow the spices to be distributed evenly. I then added shredded cheese on top of the potato along with a little grounded black pepper and allowed it to cool for couple of minutes. And as you can see in the final picture the potato looked so good it stood no chance against my growling stomach. You can add this recipe if to all of your others and use recipe software to create your own cookbook and add a few healthy recipes.
