how to use the browser on your blackberry

If you don't know how to use the browser on your Blackberry then I am here to help. It is quite often that I get question from all of my co-workers on how to use various functions on their Blackberries. But the one I get the most and I feel that is the easiest is how to use the web browser on their Blackberry.

First of all you will need to have a data plan active on your Blackberry device. These plans usually range about $25-$40 depending on the carrier and the data plan package you chose. Without the data plan active you may not be able to access the internet at all on your Blackberry. If you have the data plan or unlimited data plan then you are able to access the web on your Blackberry Curve, Pearl, 8900, Bold, Storm, etc.

Step 1.

Click on the keyboard key on your device and this will bring up the screen with all of the icons on it.

Step 2.

Next scroll to the web browser icon that looks like a globe of the earth with a halo around it and click on it. This will bring up the blackberry homepage.

Step 3.

On the homepage you will now need to click on the keyboard key. This will bring up a list of options and you will now need to select "go to." Once you do this then the address bar will appear at the top allowing you to type in the website that you want to go to.

Step 4.

In the address bar type in a web address such as "google.com" to check to see if the browser works properly then press enter. If successessful this will bring up the Google homepage and you have successfully used the internet browser on your Blackberry.

*One thing to be careful of is that everytime you use the web on your phone there is a certain amount of data that it takes to load the site. This data is what is included in your data plan so be sure to either have an unlimited data plan or make sure that you do not exceed the data that is alotted in your data plan. Overages can add up quick and excessive usage may cause you bill to increase 25-100% in some instances.
