The Scenario

Your favorite NFL football team or NCAA college football team is a bout to play on TV and psyched.  All you want to do is enjoy the game with little or no distractions.  A few good friends over to watch football game with you would be nice too.  You have to the perfect game day planned out and you NEED it to go as smoothly as it possibly can.  Not errands will be ran today, no dog walking, and absolutely no nagging about taking out the trash or washing the dishes.  You have waited the whole week for this day and done a lot of things during the week to make sure the whole game day Sunday is yours and yours only.  Are you ready for some football?  If the answer is yes then here is what we need for a great day.

The List of to Bliss

  1. A place to watch the game.  This is the most essential thing because without this there is no need to bother.   It's always good to be able to watch the game in the comfort of your own home but if you are unable to then a sports bar or a friends house will do.
  2. A nice big screen TV to watch the game on and also for use at half time with #?.  The larger the screen the better because you can be an arm chair referee and see the players, the ball and the football score better.
  3. A good meal and snacks.  This is almost as essential as #1 because the food ensures you don't have to from in front of the TV for anything but a bathroom break.  Wings, chips, soda, candy bars, and sandwiches is perfect and make sure you have enough for your friends if they are coming over so no one has to leave and miss a moment of the game.
  4. No nagging spouse or yelling kids.  Tell your wife or husband on Tuesday that Sunday will be all  yours so he/she can give you all of the honey do's in advance.  Inform all grandparents and aunts early in the week to expect the children as company for the weekend so that you have all bases covered.
  5. A video game system.  You will need either a Xbox 360, Playstation 3, or a Nintendo Wii along with a good football video game. You can even have the game for the pc as a substitute.
  6. Your favorite football jersey.  It's your lucky jersey and your favorite player jersey.  You're superstitious a little and you believe it will help your team win even if they have the worst record in the NFL or NCAA.
  7. Football tickets.  If you have tickets to the game then this is the ultimate.  Skip #'s 1-6 and go straight to the game.

Enjoy The Day

Now that everything is in place and you are ready for the tip off you can sit back and put your feet up.  That is unless you are at the game in person then please don't put your feet up on the back of the person in front of you seat and get kicked out of the stadium and miss the game.  That would ruin a whole weeks worth or planning.  Keep your cell phone close and screen calls so you can answer the calls of only friends who are watching the game as well.  Especially if that friend is a fan of the other team and it allows you to taunt him/her about their team losing.  Once the games are all done for the day then take a few minutes to come back to reality.  You don't want to be caught off guard when the doorbell rings and the kids are back home, or your spouse suddenly starts barking out those honey-do orders again.  Have Fun.

Good hub. I enjoyed reading it. Going to the game is all the fun you need. Watching the game from home or your favorite watering hole is very enjoyable too.
