The Zhu Zhu Pet are the hottest tosys on the planet right now. Who would have ever expected a hamster would turn into a rock star. But it has happened. The Zhu Zhu Pets aka Go Go Pets were originally modeled after a St. Louis based toy execs family pet hamster that died before realize his new found fame. The family pet hamster unfortunately was eaten by the family cat. True story! Immediately after testing the toy out on kids the toy maker knew it was a hit for them. The little toys coo and squeak as they move their battery powered selves across they floor. They are also said to go to their bathroom without the mess of a real hamster.

With the recent unexpected fame of the Zhu Zhu pets the prices that were were originally $7.99 to $9.99 has skyrocketed. Many places like Ebay and Amanzon have them listed from $40-$65. The demand is so high for these things that it kind of puts you in mind of the Tickle Me Elmo craze and the Webkins and Beenie Babies. For no apparent reason people suddenly go crazy over these toys and some are willing to fight it out with other customers to gain possession of one of these items. But with any phenomenon there are winners and losers.

The winners are the parent who are able to score one of these sought after toys for the child that who's only true wish is to have one. What parent wants to disappoint their child when they have been so good and the toy they want is the toy that they deserve. But there is another winner in this puzzle. The true winners are those people who spend their lives hunting down these trends and profiting heavily from them. For some hardcore deal fanatics this is a way of life. These buyers scour the net to find the hottest deals that are the hardest to get and form teams that go around to various stores in various cities and they buy as many of these items that they can. It happens all of the time when new in demand toys and video game systems come on the market. When the PS3 hit the market at $499 and $699 the games were on Ebay the next day for $1200 - $1500 the very next day at buy it now prices and many were by the same sellers who were not retail stores. The losers of course are the kids and the parents. The parents that lose out on the chance for a deal on the popular toys such as Zhu Zhu Pets after standing in lines for hours have a since of disappointment having to face their kid and tell them that mommy couldn't get your favorite toy for you. And of course the ultimate loser is the children. A child who cant sleep at night waiting on Santa to bring leave their favorite toy under the Christmas tree can be extremely hurt when they open all of their gifts and find out that the Zhu Zhu Pet is not under the tree. An adult can understan but a child can't always understand.
